In 1999, the mill, which had ceased to function and was in continuous disrepair, was acquired by the Castelo Branco City Council to be restored and adapted to an Ethnographic Centre. The building, after being restored, consists of two floors: the lower floor dedicated to the technological cycle of olive oil and the upper floor dedicated to the Traditional Dances of Lousa.
The Centre dedicated to the "Dances of Lousa" guides us on a journey through the rich secular traditions of this Parish. In it we can find the music, the lyrics, the dances recreated in photography and film, the costumes, the musical instruments, such as the genebres, a kind of xylophone, an antique musical instrument only used in Lousa.
